Visit one of the world's "super volcanoes" which today is a peaceful nature reserve where elk can be seen on most days. We visit the rim of the crater which stretches over 14 miles wide.

You will see the volcanic pyroclastic ash flows from the eruptions of the “Valle Caldera” and spectacular canyons formed by them. Today the peaceful deep canyons and whispering wind make it hard to believe that the eruption was 600 times that of Mt. Helen’s.  You will also visit an ancestral pueblo ruin that speaks to you as you can envision its inhabitants going about their daily chores.
